Chapter 5: Expanding Your Note Knowledge
IN THIS LESSON:
Learn the first 2 notes on the Oboe that you will play A LOT in band music (all fingering charts by Fox Products).
B-flat and Low E-flat
The next two notes are played often in band, because the most common keys are B-flat and F!
The Key of B-flat contains both B-flat and E-flat.
The Key of F contains a B-flat.
Just like the previous lessons, let’s learn these notes by practicing a few long tones, and then practicing the exercise at the end that will help you incorporate these new notes.
B-flat
Low E-flat
Practice Check!
Before going on, practice this exercise at least 3 times to get comfortable with these new notes!
For now, learn the fingering on the left, as it is the preferred fingering. The alternate fingering on the right can be learned at a later time. It is used if you are playing E-flat before or after Db/C#.
